For many years, Konstantin Boshnakov has taught the history of Ancient Greece, Thrace, Rome, and the Mediterranean as a Professor in the Department of History at the St. Kliment Ohridski University of Sofia, Bulgaria. He obtained his Doctoral Degree in 1992, and in 2001 became an Associate Professor of Ancient History. The scope of his research includes comparative studies of the political, military, and social history of ancient cultures, the historical geography of ancient states, the analysis and interpretation of written sources and archaeological finds, and the study of cults and religious practices. His monographs and articles have been published in Bulgaria, Germany, and France. In 2002-2003 he was awarded a fellowship by the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation and was invited as a visiting lecturer by the Martin Luther University at Halle-Wittenberg, Germany.
