Ivan Stanchev is an engineer. He worked as a senior research associate in the IT field as head of section at the Central Computer Institute and as head of division at the Microprocessor Institute.
In 1991 he joined a British-managed company producing metal structures in Dubai, in the United Arab Emirates, and worked there for nine years as project engineer and quality manager. He was involved in dozens of projects in the UAE until his return to Bulgaria in 2000.
